ATLANTA BEBOP SOCIETY


The A.B.S. goal is to support original jazz music in Atlanta, bebop jazz, the true sound of modern jazz. We aim to encourage musicians to seek out like-minded musicians and start working up original jazz music. We intend to influence club owners to hire these musicians. We intend to support this music by actively supporting those clubs that feature this music. Atlanta as an international city deserves a thriving cultural presence, and jazz is a cultural phenomenon that originated here in the south. Where else but Atlanta to celebrate and support this great art form? The Atlanta Bebop Society needs members, ideas and enthusiasm. We need volunteers, experts in all kinds of fields. We need people who are ready for this city to take that next step to being a truly international city, and to make a little effort to help Atlanta achieve that goal.
